The window itself is a cool looking glass, reflecting today's images with the romance of the past. This original mirror is hand-crafted by Sneh Gangal. The renowned artist uses brilliant enamels and a secret technique she developed to create the scene on the reverse side of the glass. Gangal is a specialist in the Kangra Valley School of painting and holds a Ph.D degree in the field. The Kangra School of painting arose in the seventeenth century from the crossing of Mughal miniature style painting with purely Hindu Vaishnavite thought. The minutely detailed works are considered the highest form of painting in India. Themes usually focus on Radha and Krishna, such as representations of twelfth century Jayadev's Geetgovinda, but can also encompass themes from classical Sanskrit masterpieces like Vikramorbashi or Kumarsambhava. Innovative and beautiful, this mirror is a work of art. It has a copper hook for hanging and comes in an elaborately carved frame of pinewood.
